Cora Lee Epperson, 86, went home on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, in Olive Branch, MS. Family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 16, 2020 starting at 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Goodman Oaks Church of Christ (1700 Goodman Rd E, Southaven, MS 38671) with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Fayette County Memorial Park (10670 US-64, Oakland, TN 38060).Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Cora was born on November 24, 1933, in West Columbia, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. Cora was once a part of the Red Hat Society, which she really enjoyed. In her younger days, Cora enjoyed bowling. She loved her church family and enjoyed being a part of Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. Most of all Cora loved her family. She will be greatly missed for the unconditional love she gave, the smile that lit up a room, and the hugs that gave comfort and strength.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lee Cottrell Heinze; son, Joseph Todd Cottrell (Susan); grandchildren, Jason Michael Heinze, Olivia Lee Heinze, Cody Tyler Cottrell, Courtney Leigh Cottrell, Kandy Michelle Cottrell, and Brandy Elise Cottrell Smith; great- grandchildren, Piper Lynne Heinze, Robyn Astrid Heinze, Zola Cottrell Belbin, Mwezis Cottrell Belbin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cora is preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Edmond Cottrell; second husband, Ira Epperson; son, Jack Edmond Cottrell, Jr.; parents, Joseph Wesley and Marguerite Daniel Abbott; two sisters, Jewel Dowdy and Josie Marguerite Parrent; and great-grandson, Hunter Caleb Cottrell Moran.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Cora Epperson to Goodman Oaks Church of Christ.
