Clyde L. Bass, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Southaven, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with funeral service to follow immediately after at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Interment will be in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. Bro. David Smith, a friend of Clyde’s, will officiate the service.
Mr. Bass was born in England, Arkansas, and graduated from Plum Bayou High School. He moved to Mississippi and became a concrete contractor. He liked following sports especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s baseball games. He also started and served as president of the Southaven Umpires Association, which helped change youth baseball in Southaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents Amos and Ruby Jewel Fisher Bass, his wife Patricia, his son; Mike Bass, his grandson; Keith Bass, brothers; Aubrey Jean, John Kenneth, and James Elvin Bass, and sister; Dorothy Marie Bass Coney.
Survivors include his sons; Mark (Cheryl) and Matthew Bass, grandchildren; Anthony (Susan), Tricia, Clyde, and Mallory (Patrick), great-grandchildren; Caleb, Eva, Liam, Jaxon, and Maddox, daughter-in-law Kathy Campbell, sister, Mattie Mae Bass Pitts, and good friend, Richard Taylor.
