Charles Ray Johnson, fondly known as Charlie to his loved ones, bid farewell to this world unexpectedly at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Tennessee. Born on October 25, 1959, in Memphis, TN, Charlie brought immense joy and laughter into the lives of all who knew him.
From his early days, Charlie was a kid at heart and a natural jokester. His playful demeanor and dependable nature made him someone everyone wanted to be around. He had a knack for finding humor in everything, even when attempting to skateboard which often ended in amusing failures that left everyone in stitches.
In his academic journey, Charlie showcased his cleverness and wit, earning the title of class clown among his peers. Despite his playful antics, he always managed to balance fun with being helpful and supportive to those around him.
One of Charlie's proudest accomplishments was his son. He poured his heart and soul into being a loving father and cherished every moment spent with his children Christian (Kelsey) Johnson, Shalee Jones, Britni Jones, and Caleb Jones.
Outside of family life, Charlie found joy in hobbies such as golfing, indulging in sports activities, playing putt-putt with friends, and simply embracing the exuberance of being a perpetual kid at heart.
As friends and family gather to remember and honor his memory at the upcoming visitation and funeral service at Getwell Church in Southaven MS on March 16th, they will undoubtedly reminisce about the countless moments of laughter shared with Charlie over the years.
Charlie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that be forever cherished by his surviving family members including parents Virginia Elman and Donald Elman, brothers Larry and David, his beloved grandchildren, along with dear friends who were like family to him. He is now reunited with his late brother Mike.
In the tapestry of life that Charles Ray Johnson woven during his time with us on Earth - full of humor, love, and unwavering support - he will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Charlie not with tears but with smiles for the moments shared that will live on eternally in our hearts.
