Carolyn Bette Rosenkrans, lovingly known as Nina, was born on July 11, 1947, in Munich, Germany. She peacefully departed this world on February 12, 2025, in Horn Lake, MS, after a lengthy illness that showcased her remarkable strength and resilience.
Carolyn's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, humor, and devotion. For many, she was not just a doting mother but a warm pillar of support who was always there for her children. As a stay-at-home mom and tug driver at FedEx, Carolyn balanced her professional life with her deep commitment to family, often bringing lunch to her kids while they worked, a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her children will forever hold cherished memories of her goofy personality and her ability to light up any room with her sweetness, all while unapologetically sharing her opinions.
Her proudest accomplishments included her time at FedEx, becoming a devoted mother, and embracing the role of Nina to her beloved grandchildren. The richness of her life was reflected in simple pleasures: from going out to eat with friends and family, to indulging in a good book or journaling her thoughts in her diary. She found joy in treasure hunting at carport sales and Goodwill, where each discovery held a story just waiting to unfold.
Carolyn was married for 53 beautiful years to her beloved husband, Rev. James Rosenkrans, who preceded her in death, along with their cherished daughter, Donna Harris, and her sister, Freda Jennings. She was the daughter of Carol and Liselotte "Lottie" (Kübler) Rosenkrans. Yet, even as she faced the sorrow of these losses, Carolyn remained a strong matriarch, guiding her family with love.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Moore (Andrew); her son, James "Jimmy" Rosenkrans, Jr.; three grandchildren, Hayley Matherne (Collin), Matthew McMinn (Amanda), and James Harris; and three great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life. Additionally, Carolyn had the blessing of siblings, including sisters Anne Burns, Linda Underwood, and brother Carol Taylor, Jr., as well as a sister-in-law, Betty Rosenkrans, who will carry on her legacy.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her and James' lives at OneWay Fellowship in Coldwater, MS, on February 22, 2025. The celebration will begin at 10:30 AM, concluding at 12:00 pm, where stories will be shared, laughter will echo, and the profound impact Carolyn made on all those who knew her will be honored.
Carolyn Bette Rosenkrans lived a life marked by love, laughter, and care that transformed the lives of those around her. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends.
