Beverly Wilder McNeece, a beloved matriarch, passed away on November 16, 2024 in Hernando, MS at the age of 80, following a lengthy illness. Born on December 8, 1943, in Sledge, MS, Beverly was a firecracker in every sense—a feisty, funny, and lovable spirit whose warmth and wit touched everyone she met.
Beverly enjoyed a fulfilling career, working as a dedicated secretary for Holiday Corporation for many years and serving as a substitute teacher for DeSoto County Schools. She was known not just for her professionalism but also for her nurturing nature, always believing in the power of education to shape future generations.
Education was an important chapter in Beverly's life; she graduated from Northwest Community College in Senatobia in 1964 with her associate degree in business. However, her most cherished accomplishment was her salvation, which served as the cornerstone of her life and relationships.
Beverly had a passion for travel, believing in the beauty and wonder of the world. She fondly reminisced about her incredible trips to Paris, France, and Hawaii, as well as her adventure to Canada to see the locations where "Anne of Green Gables" was filmed. Despite her love for exploring new places, her heart always found its way back home. Beverly created a picture-perfect home that mirrored her love for family and hospitality, often cooking up Easter Bunny birthday cakes for her son and taking him to the movies every Saturday.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Hardy McNeece, Sr.; her son, Hardy McNeece, Jr. (Dana); her cherished granddaughter, Skylar McNeece; her sister, Martha Lee Bradley; her brother, Joe Wilder; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever remember her incredible spirit and loving presence.
Beverly will join her parents, Loyce and Lucille (Ball) Wilder; her brother, Buddy Wilder; and her brother-in-law, Willie Ray Bradley in eternal rest. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and fond memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, on November 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again on November 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, concluding with a burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens at 12:00 PM.
Beverly’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, joy, and countless cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
