Barney William Norys, Sr., a devoted family man and skilled roofer, passed away at his home in Hernando, MS, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Chicago, IL, on September 29th, 1950, Barney's life was a tapestry woven with moments of joy, laughter, and heartfelt connections.
Throughout his career working for various construction companies as a roofer, Barney found solace in the simplicity of life's pleasures. He cherished memories of family picnics and shared his passion for hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Trips back to his hometown of Chicago held a special place in his heart, where the echoes of his past resonated with stories of yesteryears.
Barney was a man of few words but had a knack for bringing laughter into the lives of those around him. His quiet demeanor hid a heart of gold that always had time to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Known for living each day to its fullest and never uttering an unkind word about others, he embodied kindness and compassion in every aspect of his life.
Barney was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lucille Norys, his beloved wife, Judy (Henry) Norys, son Justin Norys and daughter Anna Green, as well as his brothers Jimmy Norys and Thomas Norys.
Among Barney's proudest accomplishments was becoming a father. His legacy lives on through his children: daughter Jenny Riley (Chad); sons Edward Norys and Barney Norys, Jr.; brother Richie Norys; sisters Alice Bennett, Sally Norys, and Shirley Norys; son-in-law Bill Green; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Each one carries a piece of his spirit within them.
The melody of Barney's life was composed of simple joys—hunting trips under the open sky and laughter echoing through family gatherings. His love knew no bounds, reaching far beyond the confines of this world into the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Services to honor Barney William Norys, Sr.'s life will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. A Visitation will take place on March 16th starting at 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, may we carry forward the light of his love and the warmth of his memory within us.
